The Parking and Transportation Services department at the University of Texas at Austin holds the bike auction for students and public twice a year. Over the course of a semester, the university collects a large number of abandoned bikes on campus. When these bikes fail to get claimed after 90 days, the university will recycle them for the bike auction. In the Fall of 2015, PTS held a silent auction with over 150 bikes inside San Jacinto garage. This popular event was advertised through newspaper ads, our website and outdoor signs for weeks in advance. To create awareness of the bike auction, I created way-finding signs, info-graphics, auction tickets, bid-sheets and the floorplan for employees. I chose a desaturated pink, brown and bright red to celebrate the fall season. Simple line drawings and clean layouts throughout the projects serve the purpose of communicating quickly how the auction works and how one can participate.
